Exactly How To Boost Your Seo Rankings
Saturday, May 1st, 2010Understand How You Can Improve The SEO Rankings Of Your Site
Thursday, February 18th, 2010| Executive SEO Training | Corporate SEO | Dallas SEO |
If you want to evaluate your website SEO rankings then you will need to look at a number of factors that when they fall together can help make your site rise higher in the main search engines rankings. It obviously will make sense for you to look at factors that can help you determine whether your site is ranked properly or whether there is scope for improvement. In fact, many of the things that will help in improving your sites rankings are not always very obvious and so you need to some homework. One factor that can adversely affect your site SEO rankings is its age. In fact, how old the URL is can play a major part in the overall ranking of your website. The longer you have been around the more trust you will have built up and once your business has been well established it will then help ensure that your website achieves a higher ranking. The second factor that needs to be addressed is where your site is being hosted. This means that you should know the country or continent in which your hosting company is located. If you use a hosting company that is reliable and which enjoys a good reputation the chances of your site being ranked higher will increase and vice versa. You need to also be careful that you do not use a hosting company that hosts sites that have been categorized as spam sites as this will bring down your sites rankings. So be sure to get the site hosted with a company that hosts reliable sites. You need to also ensure that you keep a clean URL structure. This means that the URL must be free from random character strings because the URL structure plays an important role in search engine optimization processes. But, most importantly of all, you need to create useful content which should also be targeted at human readers and which is not meant to trick the search engines into giving it a higher ranking. The site must also have a solid internal link structure and a visitor must find it easy to navigate around your site. The site must be easy to navigate and it must have proper interlinking as these factors help ensure higher rankings. Other factors that need to be addressed include using the right and optimized keywords and also ensure that your site is trustworthy. Understanding SEO rankings requires looking at a couple of factors that in turn need to fall into place to help your site achieve higher rankings with the major search engines. The Definition Of Search Engine Algorithm
Monday, August 17th, 2009| Executive SEO Training | Corporate SEO | Dallas SEO |

If you are planning for the optimization of your webpage for the search engines, so that the visibility and traffic are increased, you must need to know how the search engines work. For that you have to understand the search engine algorithms. The web pages are always ranked by the search engines. To make yourself to the number one position, within the search engine results, you have to understand what is ranking your competition higher. To bring in more traffic and, more business, and more money you must be able to optimize your site to achieve the top level position in the search engines. The users of any search engine are not like the ordinary business customers but are different. You would not expect a person to walk onto a car dealership and simply blurt out ?Car? and the salesman knows exactly what type of car the customer wanted. On the other hand search engines have to work with something like this; any users will insert a keyword or phrase and expect results (list of links/sites on web) that have the occurrence of this word/ phrase. Technology has advanced so much so quickly that the earlier search engines are obsolete. These early versions used text as the main component. This text only idea of searching would bring back millions upon millions of results causing the user to lack the ability to sort and use the relevant material. This method of text searching has changed completely. Now, search engines use very detailed algorithms to decide which of the millions of search results returned are the best and most relevant. There are two key factors in searching the web, content analysis and linkage analysis. By having the web broken down into different communities of information it becomes easy for the search engines now to get those results for user which are most relevant and they get it very quick with advanced search engine algorithms. To increase chances of having your web page come up in the top results you need to understand how the search engines index and sort the web pages. The main goal of any site is to be optimized for the top spot on all search engines. Many search engines will cache a portion or all of your page and others will index every word. So It is vital that you ensure all the information on your site matches the theme of your site, is not copyright elsewhere, is informative, useful, and current. Pleasing the user is the number one goal when it comes to search engines, so having page rankings on WebPages they choose to be the top ranked pages makes it much simpler for the search engines to return customer pleasing results. If your site links to multiple sites the search engine will increase your ranking on their list and it will help get you to the top faster. About the Author:

A No Follow Link
Monday, August 10th, 2009| Executive SEO Training | Corporate SEO | Dallas SEO |
|
Elements of an HTML which are used to direct search engines that a hyperlink is not to affect the rank of a search engines index is known as a no follow link. No follow links are designed to help eliminate search engine spam as well as create better search engine results. Google designed the idea of the no follow attribute value in 2005 to eliminate the spam that could come through in a search when using keywords in the search engines. The no follow link is not for blocking access to web content, only for preventing the content to be indexed by the search engines. A links intended page rank will not be affected nor would its content be blocked by hyperlinks that include the rel=?nofollow? attribute. Though the no follow attribute was designed and copyrighted by Google, its value is being used by several others including, Bing, Yahoo, and Windows Live Search. Rather than not follow the link in a literal since, search engines are supposed to not catalog the link in their databases. The page will remain operable and still load without material being blocked. This is just away to prevent the indexing of spam that appears as a result to the search. Google suggest that the no follow link be enacted in a literal sense where the link will not be followed at all. However, in reports conducted for the SEO different information was discovered. Here it was determined that the links did work but was not indexed to the page it linked to. For Yahoo this means that link will be followed but not taken into consideration in its ranking considerations. MSN Search has yet another variation where the no follow link is neither counted nor followed. The definition of the no follow link will differ from site to site. The majority of weblog software programs will automatically submit links with the no follow attribute and not give some options to change. There are a few programs that will allow alterations from trusted users and others will allow them to be submitted as the writer wishes and then use human editors to remove any unwanted links. The no follow link protects web owners from unwanted content on their site. Many web owners will begin a blog to encourage new content to be displayed on their page and enlarge the overall page rank of the site. The sites page rank can be dropped dramatically if offensive are left on the site so the no follow link allows the bloggers to leave links but protects the webpage owners from taking hits to their page rankings as of them. Google has began using the no follow links as a machine readable revelation for paid links and therefore keeping them from gaining any credibility in the search engines results. The web owners are still debating over whether or hurting them as many pages are paying for links to be traded on their site in hopes of raising their page rank. The no follow link has been contradicted many times over where SEO is concerned and it depends on the web owner as to if they allow them on the site or not. About the Author:

Meta Tag Explained
Wednesday, August 5th, 2009| Executive SEO Training | Corporate SEO | Dallas SEO |
|
A Meta Tag is a line of HTML coding containing metadata about the webpage it is sited on. The Meta tag information does not change the appearance of the page and will never be seen by the people visiting the webpage. The only way your Meta tags will be seen is if the audience wish to notice your find language. There are two different types of Meta tags, the meta description tags and the meta keywords tags. The meta description tags are worn to describe the website and what it has to recommend. If the webpage is about drug rehab then the meta description would be something akin to “information on drug rehab”. The meta keywords tags are lexis that are worn to describe the webpage that you want to have included in the hunt results of hunt engines. For instance the drug rehab page would have keywords such as drug rehab, alcohol rehab, drug abuse, drug prevention, help with drugs, drug rehabilitation, etc. The language are obvious to the quest engines and when the consumer spaces one of the keywords in the explore engines seek prevent and hits record your webpage will be included in the results. Both type of the tags are located in the HEAD tag of the html code in below mentioned manner. The main goal of the meta tags are to allow the web crawlers to learn about the purpose of the page. When the search engine is instructed to find a specific page related to a keyword the making the likelihood of your webpage. SEO or Search Engine Optimization dictates that you create keywords that are specific to your site and that the meta tags you create in your heading be found on the webpage as well. So, using a inappropriate web like “flower box or “dog treat” will not end up in appropriate result. Actually, some of the large search engines such as Google and Yahoo completely ignore Meta Tags altogether to prevent displaying “bogus” sites to their users. They only consider the text in the displayable content of your webpage when determining if your site matches a user’s search. Unfortunately, this is necessary because of the rampant abuse of unrelated Meta Tags by webmasters in an attempt to drive traffic to their sites. Keep this in mind when you are deciding what content to place on your site. If you want a webpage to be identified by the large search engines for a specific topic, make sure that you include the key term several times in your pages text. If you want your site to be listed as one of the top results for search engines, make sure that your site contains well written information that is related to the the theme of your webpage and is obviously written by a human knowledgeable on the subject. Explaining On Page SEO
Tuesday, July 28th, 2009| Executive SEO Training | Corporate SEO | Dallas SEO |
|
The content and the text that is placed on your web sites pages are considered to be On Page SEO. This technique is used for editing your page and it?s content to be searchable in the search engines when a web surfer is trying to find a topic that relates to your website. On Page SEO or search engine optimization began with the first of the search engines. The technology was started simple while the World Wide Web was still small. As the World Wide Web grew larger it has become more complex for search engines to tell the difference between your site and other sites. A Search on ?Beds? could bring back s million+ pages that have incorporated the word ?Bed? in their pages. The more sophisticated technology of Off Page SEO has begun to overtake the search engines as the World Wide Web has continued to grow in size and complexity. On Page SEO?s purpose is to optimize your website and make it search engine friendly to gain traffic. If your website is not optimized for keyword search your chances of getting decent results in the major search engines will decrease dramatically. Your website should be properly indexed for the search engines. At least one link on each of your sites that takes the user somewhere should be in place. Your content should be unique and original on every page. Meta tags should be properly arranged with your page title tags and description tags that are describing the content of your pages. Ensure the page title tags are 68 characters or less and the descriptions tags are 148 characters or less but more detailed. H tags should be used to label the different headers on your webpage. The web page URL should be SEO friendly too by using mod re-write for Linux and Apache hosting for IIS redirect for Windows versions. Ideally you should try to ensure that your URLS describe your pages content as closely as possible. Page links should be checked for any dead links. Use descriptive URLS for all images you have on your site instead of just a bunch of numbers. All images need to be labeled with descriptive alt attributes appropriately. Anchor texts links should be used within your page to redirect the page traffic to other websites. If you are selling lingerie then you should place anchor links in the text lingerie where the word appears throughout your site. Check that only one version of your site is active. Redirect All non www. URLS appropriately. No need to waste Page Rank on any pages that are not needed for search engines. Use the rankings for pages that are more important for receiving traffic. Use the rel=?nofollow? tag in those pages. This tag can also be used for pages that you don?t trust or simply do not want to assist in the search engines results. You have to make sure the code is correct to make the search engine crawl the website. Using the W3C validator you can check your pages markup. Simply follow these guidelines for On Page SEO and you should get good results in the search engines and good Page Rankings. About the Author:

Off Page SEO Basics
Tuesday, July 21st, 2009| Executive SEO Training | Corporate SEO | Dallas SEO |
|
Search Engine Optimization or otherwise known as SEO has always been an important part to an online business. More than 80% of the traffic for the website will come from search engines results pages (SERP?s). It is imperative that the correct SEO techniques are utilized to create a prominent position for your website within the searches. There are two types of SEO, On Page and Off Page SEO. While On-Page SEO is important, Off Page SEO uses a more sophisticated technology to obtain your website and high page rank (PR) after your site has gone live. Off Page SEO is all about building your link popularity. Your websites link popularity is represented by the number of back links associated with your website. The larger the number (PR) the more popular your website is. You can check your sites popularity at various places on the internet. You build link popularity by obtaining websites that are linked to you. You cannot simply use the you link to me and I will link to you method as Google will not recognize reciprocal links. This is a bit harder than just that. You have to have unilateral links to your websites pages. Using 100% original, unique and highly informative content is one of the better ways to increase popularity. You are far more likely to have other websites willing to link to your site if it is useful and unique information. Below you will find a list of other methods that are being used to increase link popularity. Not everyone has the time or ability to create high quality content for their websites and constantly update it to keep it fresh and new. Article Marketing: You can market your website as well as get the backlinks on high page ranking (PR) sites with the use of article directories. Some article directories have a very high page rank and having your article placed on their site with your website link helps to increase your PR. Each article submitted will include a resource box where you get a chance to introduce yourself and include a link to your website. There are thousands of directory sites and some will submit your article to over 200 sites for as little as $25. Forum Marketing: Seek out online communities that are closely related to your websites subject. You can post on these pages and increase your visibility. You are allotted a signature box that will appear below every post, so place your website link in there. You will have a page linking back to your site with every post. Advertise on Craigslist: This site has a PR7 score and this is extremely high. Being able to create an ad with your link on this site will increase your sites popularity quickly. It does not matter who if anyone reads the ad, just place it and don?t forget to include your website link. You can find two or more webmasters and create triangular links. Using triangular linking is a way to get around the issue Google has with the reciprocal links. With two or more webmasters you will be able to begin linking to each other?s sites without using reciprocal links. Finding partners can also be helpful. About the Author:

The Importance Of Anchor Text
Tuesday, July 14th, 2009| Executive SEO Training | Corporate SEO | Dallas SEO |

You must have noticed that many websites that there are blue words that are clickable and will send you to another page or site. These are known as anchor texts and they if used correctly will increase your websites page rank and popularity. Anchor texts are hyperlinked words used on a webpage that when clicked they take the visitor to another link. Anchor text is used to explain a word, show an image, or just to redirect the reader to another page on your website or anywhere on the World Wide Web. The anchor text tells the search engines what the page is about. If you use it in the right way you can increase your page rankings within the search engines such as Google. You can use the text click here as the clickable text but that would only tell the search engines that the page is about click here. The best method is to use is descriptive anchor text to enable the search engines to understand what your web page is about and they can organize it correctly for searching. Anchor text can throw a site into the top ten search results in Google by using a phrase that is not shown anywhere on the webpage. Google Bombing had became a popular prank for bloggers. They would use humorous or just random phrases that will get them noticed. If the phrase was good enough it could land them a number one position in Googles search results. If it was a competitive phrase the blogger may have to post continuous blogs to get noticed. In 2007 Google added a new algorithm which decreased the impact of the pranks and bombs but it still recognizes anchor links as extremely important. If you are using Off Page SEO tactics to obtain link popularity through having partners link to your site create a HTML code for them to copy and paste, this way you are given the opportunity to create your own anchor text. If your website only focuses on one thing you have to be careful not to over optimize that word. If you are only selling umbrellas you do not want to create all the anchor text links to be umbrellas. You could create an unnatural pattern with the search engines. Anchor text is used with various techniques. It can be used in external links; any links from other sites can be optimized with appropriate anchor text to maximize results. Internal links are extremely popular anchor links where you can have clickable text to navigate the website Two of the most important places for anchor text is in your navigation maps and the links to your main page. The anchor text will be read by humans as well as the search engines. You want to ensure that it is optimized for the search engines but it still should make sense to those who are reading it. Remember to be descriptive and never plain, always make the anchor text make sense as to where the user will be going when it is clicked. About the Author:

Most search engines will consider backlinks the most important part of ranking a website. When another website places a link to your page on theirs it is considered a backlink. The amount of backlinks your website has will determine its popularity and importance. A backlink is nothing more than another website placing a link to your website on their own website that directs traffic to you when the link is clicked. During this update there are millions of pages that have just been created and start out with a PR0 rating. If you are checking your incoming links and notice a page that has a PR0 that is linked to your page, look at the homepage. Sometimes the sub pages are ne creations but the index page will have a high PR ranking already. Google will traditionally make a new website wait to be given a PR number for several months. This gives new sites time to gather backlinks and create the right anchor text for their sites and to establish the right anchor text for their web pages. If you have backlinks they must be on subject your site. The best type of backlinks to have on your site are one way links. You do not want to have backlinks that are not matched to your page or there may be unwanted traffic connected. You cannot help who has linked to you but you will be penalized for who you link to. Your webpage will benefit from more traffic due to backlinks. You want to ensure that the traffic is desired and relevant to what your site offers. Customers and SEO: Does it Work?
Monday, June 29th, 2009| Executive SEO Training | Corporate SEO | Dallas SEO |
|
The goal of any business is to make a profit, which comes from paying customers. In order to market online and survive, you need plenty of traffic to get those paying customers. You can spend a lot of money getting people to your website, but the key here getting visitors who are looking for what you have, and not how much you spend to get them. What is targeted traffic? It is traffic from people who are actively searching for the information or type of product that you are selling. This is the kind of traffic that you can convert into paying customers. Anything else is an uphill battle. SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is the actual process of getting your webpage visible, and as close to number in the SERP, or Search Engine Results Page. You can have the best site and the best product in the entire world, but you won?t make a single dime if no one can find your website. Keywords are the words and phrases that are typed into the search boxes on the search engines when people are looking for something. In order to find your webpage, you need to have the keywords they are searching for, not only on your page, but arranged and used in such a way that they are noticed and displayed by the search engines. SEO or Search Engine Optimization is the things that are done to get your webpage listed as close to the top of the SERP, specifically on the first page where people are most likely to see and click on your site. The goal is number one, but getting into the top 10 can be a real boost to your business. Getting people to visit your webpage is a great start, but you still need a solid product and sales mechanism to convert your visitors into paying customers. Converting potential customers into paying customers is what the sales process is all about, but before you can do any of that, you have to get them there in the first place. A big part of SEO is the keywords, because that is what people are using to search for information and products, but there is certainly more to it than just the keywords. Here is just one SEO tip: when your webpage is returned on an SERP, there is a title, description, and the link. The description is usually taken from the Metadata description tag in the head section of your html code, or if not present, the first couple sentences from the webpage. Concentrate on making your description or lead in sentences something that will make searchers want to click on your site over the millions of others that come back in a search. Can SEO be an effective way to get customers to your site? Yes it can, and is a proven method of long term targeted traffic generation. Remember that the big search engines are not going to hand over a plan that tells you exactly what they are looking for to place your page in the number one SERP spot, but requires some know-how and a lot of testing. There are basic proven methods that work, and the best part about SEO is that once the initial work is finished, the traffic and the paying customers are all free, which means less marketing costs and more profits.
